Alternative plants among which cherry plum, elder and sea buckthorn can be numbered are characterized by low climatic and soil requirements and a great resistance to diseases and pests. Fruits are characterized by a high content of vitamins, particularly C, A, PP and from B group. They contain ether oils, glycosides, flavonides, resins and organic acids. They are used for production of herbs and in the future they can take a high position in food industry for production of jellies, juices, jams, marmalades and syrups
