Comparison of extraction methods for potentiometric assay of nitrate(5) nitrogen in soil

The paper gives results of quantitative assay of nitrates in 3 various soils, by means of five potentiometric methods of analysis. The data obtained showed significant differences of the nitrate recovery from the soils, due to their various contents in soil. Important is the choice of a proper solvent for extraction, and also proper solution stabilize the ion power. The results did show that the choice of the proper method for nitrate assay depended both on the organic matter content and nitrate content in soil
