2001
Seidler, T. | Aleksiewicz, A. (Akademia Rolnicza, Szczecin (Poland). Zaklad Podstaw Zywienia Czlowieka)
Daily food rations of students of the Agricultural University in Szczecin were found to contain insufficient amounts of selected vitamins. Deficiences of vitamin A and B2 were on the average 43 percent, while deficiences of vitamins B1 and C average 50 percent. One of the most frequent deficiences was that of vitamin B1. The amounts of vitamin A and C, supplied with food, were found to be year of study-dependent. A trend towards reduction in vitamin deficiency was observed in students of higher years. The coverage of the recommended daily vitamin intake was most probably affected by the food ration composition. Most food product group were supplied in amounts insufficient to meet nutrition standards appropriate for the population studied
