The hygiene evaluation of the source of drinking water and its contamination

Chemical and microbiological examinations were carried out to assess the quality of drinking water from a well located at the foot of the Slansky mountains in a region where no danger of contamination with waste-water from human dwellings or agricultural production existed. Despite that, our results indicated a considerable contamination of the water source. Investigation of additional sources of drinking water in the respective region suggested that the deterioration in the quality of drinking water was caused by the contamination of groundwater
