Experiences with performance of the adiabatic air-cooling system

At agricultural engineering seminars often arise the polemics concerning adiabatic air cooling in stables. An investigation was carried out to evaluate some parameters of the system of air conditioning in a stable for chick rearing after seven months of operation. Results indicated that some mistakes were made at the stage of designing. During the experiment a TOP KLIMA SYSTEM from LUBING Maschinenfabrik GMBH and CO. KG, Germany decreased the temperature of the air flow incoming to the stable by 2.4 K only. The expected temperature difference of 6 K was not achieved due to a significant fall in a ratio of water distribution into air-flow. A change in water flow through nozzles was caused by calcium formation. The use of direct adiabatic cooling without chemical treatment of water can be considered unadvised in the geological conditions in the Czech and Slovak Republic. The results from measuring relative humidity, direction and a velocity of airflow are also reported
