A cutter-bar contains the frame, whereon the parts as follows are arranged: a beater feeding device with fingers, which form pairs, a pallet with slots, knives, which enter the pallet slots, and a drive mechanism. The knives of the apparatus are made as disk ones, collected in a unit and provided with a drive. The fingers of the beater are made in such a manner that the shape of the working edge of the fingers and the blade of the knife are allowed to create jamming angle, which is less than a sum of angles of friction of the material along the blade of the knife and along the working edge of a finger of the beater or is equal to it. The task of the invention lies in creating such a cutter-bar wherein due to changes in the knife structure the friction between the knives and the fingers of the beater in the course of cutting is minimized and the operational time of the knives is prolonged up to the further sharpening
