The study deals with determining the efficiency of utilizing mutant forms while breeding tomatoes for heterosis. The expediency to use the mutant forms while developing heterosis tomato hybrids under the conditions of Forest-Steppe of Ukraine is substantiated. The effectiveness of the method of complete and incomplete topcrossing is identified. New multi-marker lines of tomatoes with economically valuable characteristics and promising heterosis F1 hybrids adapted to the conditions of Forest-Steppe of Ukraine are developed. The obtained parent material is used in the research programmes conducted by the Institute and experimental stations thereof. The developed heterosis hybrids underwent a two-year variety trial. Preparation procedures are done to include them into the State Variety Trial
