Archeological monuments belong to the broader classification of cultural monuments and they haven't been protected until now in cooperation with the protection of natural monuments. Archeological monuments mostly belong to the geo-heritage, because they're tightly connected to the their natural surroundings and they create characteristic environment. Concise classification of those monuments means: discoveries or monuments of old technologies; monuments tightly connected to the suitable environment; regional natural and cultural areas which form national parks the characteristic example is Djerdap gorge. Protecting and investigating of archeological monuments needs closer cooperation in the service of the cultural monuments and nature protection.
