This paper deals with the influence of nitrogen fertilization on charcoal rot incidence, as well as on oil content of sunflower seed. We found out an increased risk of charcoal rot incidence and higher disease intensity caused by increasing nitrogen rates. The average highest number of affected plants was observed in N90 and N120P60K60 variants. The greatest oil content was found in the variant with only phosphorus and potassium applied (P60K60). Oil content was the lowest, with the exception of the content variant, in the variant fertilized by nitrogen only (N90).
