The paper reviews the status and the biology of wallcreeper Tichodroma muraria (Linnaeus, 1758) in Serbia (Serbia&Montenegro) and Macedonia based on field studies of the author and literature data. A short review on findings of this rare species is presented (localities, dates, number and description of habitats), with the special emphasize on the last two decades. The distribution and number of the species, the estimation of number of subpopulations and trend are presented based on data collected. The general review of the biology of the species presents data on habitat, nesting (the choice of location and season), behavior and conservation of the wallcreeper in Serbia (Serbia&Montenegro) and FYR Macedonia.
