Domestic [Yugoslav] plums and their susceptibility to drought
2002
Paunovic, G. | Lucic, P. (Agronomski fakultet, Cacak (Yugoslavia))
The paper presents the study on susceptibility of seven domestic (Yugoslav) plum genotypes to drought within the selection of vegetative rootstocks based on domestic plums. In terms of water deficit in the plant, relative water content in tissues or relative turgidity of the tissue (RWC) was determined. The assessment of susceptibility degree to drought was obtained by monitoring changes in RWC as an indicator of susceptibility to drought coupled with the visual evaluation of plant damage. Cv. Belosljiva (Prunus domestica L.) proved to be the most susceptible to drought, whereas cv. Black Thorne (Prunus spinosa L.) and cv. Dobojska Rana (Prunus domestica L.) are most drought resistant.
