The objective of the research was to evaluate the dependence of some exploitation indicators and Diesel fuel consumption on plots acreage during the shallow soil tillage by a tractor JOHN DEERE 8200 with a disc tiller DOWLANDS 4500 after winter wheat harvest. The logarithmic function y=0.43Lnx+10.76 was chosen to express the dependence of the field speed on plots acreage, while the function y=-0.81Lnx+10.35 was used to evaluate the relation between Diesel fuel consumption and particular plots acreage. The equation y=-1.83Lnx+18.95 enabled to calculate the dependence of Diesel fuel consumption on the average length of tractor trajectory through the plots. After the first skimming by disc tiller 31.1 % of winter wheat rests remained on the soil surface, 31.0 % and 37.9 % of crop rests were found out in the depth of 0-50 mm and 50-100 mm, respectively. After the second skimming by the blade tiller most of the crop rests were worked in to the depth of 50-100 mm. After the pre-seeding soil preparation most of the rests were dislocated into the depth of 0-50 mm.
