Conditions for mineral nutrition and content of nutrients in Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) on dunes in Southwest Estonia
2003
Mandre, M. (Estonian Agricultural University, Tartu (Estonia). Forest Research Institute)
The content of nutrients of Scots pine needles and shoots was studied on a dune in Southwest Estonia in a small but variegated transect from the aspect of nutrition conditions of trees. Results give an insight into the nutrition state of pines on the plain, slopes and top of the dune. A permanent connection exists between the content of nutrients and the physiological state of trees. The data obtained indicate that the content of N and K and the ratio N/K are the most important parameters for characteristing the state of pines on a dune
