Incubation studies conducted in the laboratory indicated that the extent of fixation of applied zinc in black soils ranged from 30.68 to 63.31% with a mean value of 46.72% zinc fixation increased with increase in CaCo3 content of soil and with increase in level of zinc application. Zinc fixation was significantly and positively correlated with calcium carbonate, cation exchange capacity and clay content while the correlations with pH and organic carbon were non significant.
