Introduction of highly mechanised agriculture, technological breakthrough in the farming systems, to meet the ever increasing demand and the saga of economics reforms has helped the country to threshold into the new era in agricultural sector. Now arecanut cultivation and production is not a mere way of living ut taken up as an industry for income generation and gainful employment. Unfortunately, its untapped potentiality is not realised from the grass root level. It is a good and seasonal source of income forarecanut producers. It is a good source of providing gainful employment to the family labour, but due to some circumstances, producers cannot increase the area under arecanut. Availability of resources and resource services affects crop productivity through changes in crop pattern, increase in use of input, changes in input mix and shift in production function. Present paper decomposes contribution of different resources and resources services on arecanut production. -
