Atresia coli has been sporadically reported in several species of domestic animals including calves, foals and lambs. Atresia of colon in calves usually occurs at the level of the spiral colon. Atresia coli is a lethal abnormality in calves, though, calves affected with Atresia coli appear normal at birth. Absence of faeces, progressive weakness, and abdominal distension are the most common clinical sings observed in Atresia coli of calves. The reports of successful outcome following surgery are rare. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the medical management and colostomy in calves with Atresia coli./
