Field experiment conducted during rabi 1996 and 1997, summer 1997 and kharif 1997 indicated that maximum temperature (136øC) during maturity stage had negative and highly significant correlation. With seed yield in all the five genotypes viz., MACS-201, MACS-58, PK-72, MACS-13 and MACS-330 tested. The mipimum temperature (180øC) exercised a highly significant and negative influence on the yield of MACS-201, MACS-58, PK-472 and MACS-13. The relative humidity both in the morning (73) and evening (39) correlated positively with a highly significant test for its association with seed yield of four genotypes except MACS-330. Morning relative humidity had a positive and significant influence on yield of this genotype. Significant and negative correlation coefficients were recorded for s1Jl1shine hours (9.2 h) accumulated durin.g maturity phase. The effect of mean temperature (31OC) Was negative with significant correlations during this stage of all genotypes. The growing degree days recorded highly significant and negative correlation coefficients with seed yield of the five genotypes tested.
