In this study, we have adopted AFLP (Amplefied Fragment Length Polymorphism) analysis procedure for discrimination of cultivars of radish (Raphanus sativus. L) and Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris ssp, pekinensis). In radish, 123 polymophisms were obtained from 22 primer combinations, and in Chinese cabbage, 129 polymophisms were obtained from 17 primer combinations, The number of average polymorphism obtained per each primer combination was 5.5 and 7.6 in radish and Chinese cabbage, respectively. In addition, standard varieties were provided to all markers for both crops to secure availability in future work. By cluster analysis, radish cultivars were classified by root shape and cultivation season, while those of Chinese cabbage were grouped in part by wintering. Moreover, the results showed considerable differences between recently appliedvarieties and current existing varieties, which meant that recently bred new cultivars have distinguished phenotypes from current existing varieties.
