JICA [Japan International Cooperating Agency] provides PhilRice [Philippine Rice Research Inst., Munoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines] with a Trimple-designed laser transmitter (laserplane 1145-2) and receiver with 47-mm capture height, 45-degree acceptance angle, front and back LCD read-out, and fine, medium, and coarse on-grade sensitivity. The laser land leveling system was calibrated for the hand tractor on a leveled surface. The receiver was welded to the hand tractor with the stick measure attached to its handle measuring the vertical distance. The transmitter was placed at pre-determined distances, starting at 20 m up to 500-m point interval. The transmitter's recommended range is 300 m only. Readings at different on-grade sensitivity levels were recorded
