In the DS [dry season], the highest yield (8.1 t/ha) was observed in the plot without Zn (-Zn) fertilizer, indicating that zinc was not limiting, although not significantly higher than yields in -K, -P, -S, and complete nutrient treatments. The lowest yields of 5.2 t/ha was obtained from the -N plot, hence N was most limiting. Tiller number/sq m, % filled grains/panicle, and 1000-grain weight did not differ in all treatments, except that panicle number/sq m was significantly lower in the -N plot.
