This activity aims to develop a riding-type machine with the corresponding seedling technology to increase labor productivity and reduce production cost. Activities involved intensive test trials on the KUBOTA rotary-type riding rice transplanter (SPA65) in CLSU [Central Luzon State Univ., Munoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines] which showed that 30-kg dry inbred seeds were enough for one hectare. Ten hectares were transplanted with seedlings prepared from 140 g pregerminated seeds per tray and 230 trays per ha. Fuel consumption was 2 L per hour with field capacity of 1-1.5 ha per 8-hr day operation
