The provision of fast height adjustment to address unpredictable soil conditions contributed to the performance of the unit. The use of screw-type instead of manual mode of adjusting may be adopted. Sideward adjustment for easy positioning prior to gathering of harvested straw would be considered. Performance tests showed the following: distance between piles was 120 to 190 cm. The paper titled "Design and Development of a Crop - Gathering Attachment to the PhilRice-JICA [Philippine Rice Research Inst., Munoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines-Japan International Cooperating Agency] Rotary Reaper" was presented during the National Research Symposium sponsored by DA-BAR [Department of Agriculture, Quezon City, Philippines-Bureau of Agricultural Research] held on November 26-28, 2002. It was recognized as one of the best AFMA [Agricultural Farm Machinery Association, Philippines] papers under unpublished category, Midstream/Downstream Physical Science
