Yield response of canola varieties under different NPK levels

Three canola varieties were tested under four fertilizer levels such as 60- 0-0, 60-30-0, 90-30-75 and 120-60-100 NPK kg/ha in a four replicated split plot design, keeping of 2.7 x 5 m2 = 13.5 m2 as Sub-plot area. The results regarding mean plant height were highly significant for fertilizer levels, varieties and interactions. Application of fertilizer level of 90-30-75 NPK kg/ha had maximum (145.60 cm) plant height. The variety Shiralee had maximum (163.54 cm) plant height, followed by Rainbow with (150.18 cm) plant height. The results regarding mean number of pods/plant were highly significant for fertilizer levels, varieties and their interactions. Application of fertilizer level of 120-60- 100 NPK kg/ha had maximum (529.67) mean number of pods per plant. The variety Rainbow had maximum (504.79) mean number of pods/plant, followed by Shiralee with (493.64) mean number of pods/plant. The results regarding mean number of seeds/pod were highly significant for varieties while fertilizer levels and their interaction were non-significant. Application of fertilizer level of 90- 30-75 NPK kg/ha had maximum (24.79) mean number of seeds/pod, followed by 120-60-100 NPK kg/ha, which recorded with (24.73) seeds/pod. The variety Gaj had maximum (37.84) mean number of seeds/pod, followed by Shiralee with (18.12) Seeds/pod. The results for mean 1000 seed weight varied as varieties were highly significant, fertilizer levels, and interactions were non-significant. Application of fertilizer level of 120-60-100 NPK kg/ha had maximum (3.61 g) mean 1000 seed weight, followed by 90-30-75 NPK kg/ha, which recorded with (3.48 g) 1000 seed weight. The variety Gaj had maximum (4.14 g) 1000 seed weight, followed by Rainbow with (3.09 g) mean 1000 seed weight. The application of fertilizer level of 120-60-100 NPK kg/ha had maximum (14992 kg) mean biological yield kg/ha followed by 90-30- 75 NPK kg/ha which recorded with (13763 kg) kg/ha. The variety Rainbow had maximum (1-5290 kg) mean biological kg/ha, followed by Shiralee with (14224) kg/ha. The results regarding seed yield were highly significant for varieties and fertilizer levels and interactions was non-significant. The application of fertilizer level of 120-60-100 NPK kg/ha had maximum (2947 kg/ha) seed yields, followed by 9030-75 NPK kg/ha which recorded with (2547 kg/ha) seed yields. The variety Gaj had maximum (3253 kg/ha) seed yield, followed by Rainbow with (2191 kg/ha) seed yield. The interaction between 120-60-100 NPK kg/ha fertilizer level and variety Gaj had maximum (3720 kg/ha) seed yield, followed by 90-30-75 NPK kg/ha fertilizer level and variety Gaj with (3390 kg/ha) seed yield. The results concluded that fertilizer level of 120-60-100 NPK kg/ha and variety Gaj produced maximum (3720 kg/ha) seed yield.
