An experiment was conducted at Malakandher Research Farm, NWFP Agricultural University, Peshawar during summer 20001 The experiment was laid out in RCB design arrangement having three replication using net plot size of 18X5 m2. Leaf area (45.57 cm 2) was significantly affected by treatment T3 (all N at panicle emergence). Plant height, number of tillers plant-1, number of panicle bearing tillers plant-1, sterility percentage was not significantly affected by any treatment. 1000 grain weight (19.11 g), grain yield (4.92 t ha-1), straw yield (12.46 t ha-1) and Harvest index (33.32) were highly significant, where treatment T7 (1/3 nitrogen at sowing, 1/3 nitrogen at tittering, 1/3 nitrogen at panicle emergence) was applied. Maximum number of spikelets panicle-1 (225.26) and panicle length (37.07 cm), was influenced by all treatments and was highly significant as observed in treatment T5 (1/2 N at tittering + 1/2 N at panicle emergence).
