A study pertaining to socioeconomic implication of drought on livestock production in Balochistan was conducted during April-May 2003. The drought- affected districts of Khuzdar, Zhob, Loralai and Pishin were selected randomly for study. The drought affected health of livestock, induced diseases that ultimately caused death of animals. The animals in drought areas were weak and unhealthy because of forage scarcity and such animals fetched low prices to livestock owners. The aforementioned environments deteriorated the socio- economic conditions of farmers of drought areas. The farmers in certain instances had no alternative except to migrate to other places. All these aspects outlined above were highlighted and discussed in text of paper.
