Pakistan is a net importer of edible oil and is spending millions of dollars on its import every year, which is a major drain on the forex reserves of the country. Sunflower, a non-traditional oilseed has the potential to bridge the gap that exists between the domestic demand and supply due to its high oil and protein contents. Despite the hectic efforts of the Government, the area and production of sunflower have not increased up to the expectations due to certain production and marketing constraints associated with this crop. The research article in hand attempts to investigate these constraints that are limiting sunflower production in the Punjab by employing analytical techniques.
