Waligora, H. | Kruczek, A. (Poznan Agricultural University (Poland). Dept. of Detailes Plant Cultivation)
The objective of the studies was to determine the influence of the sowing date on the yield of the I class cobs, the lenght and diameter of cobs, number of grain in the cob, cob equalization and the filling of cobs with grain in two sugar maize cultivars: the early Comanche and the medium-early Sweet Trophy. The maize was sown in 14-day intervals: April 20, May 4, 18, June 1, 15. The studies indicated that the weather course had a significant effect on the yield of I class cobs and their quality. The highest yields were obtained between April 20 and May 4
