The aim of the study was to compare the productive potential of Polish agriculture with that of selected countries in Central-East-Europe: the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Poland exceeds the other countries taken together with regard to utilized agricultural area and the volume of agricultural production, including cereals, root crops, meat and milk and number of cattle and pigs. It has lower yields of cereal crop than obtained in other states, but delivers about 90 percent of potatoes produced in all four countries
