We evaluated the production and content of basic components in milk of various genotypes of sheep in two flocks by 4 control measurements during the lactation. Milk production measured during the standard milking period (150 days) represented 91.7 l and 77.8 l in the Improved Valachian breed (IV); 161.2 l in Lacaune (Lc); 119.9 l and 153.7 l in IV x Lc-F1 crosses; 130.5 l in IV x Lc-F11 crosses, and 119.1 l in IV x Lc-F10 crosses. The differences were significant (P0.001). Similar relations between genotypes were also in evaluation of average daily milk production. We found out a significant effect of sampling order on average daily milk production (P0.001). It was the highest at 1st sampling 960,6 ml and 863,4 ml. The content of basic milk components was in different genotypes in the studied flocks as follows: fat content in IV 7.42 and 7.91 %; in Lc 6.74 %; in F1 crosses 7.51 and 7.69 %; in F11 crosses 7.43 %, and in F10 crosses 7.85 %; content of proteins in IV was 5.63 and 5.68 %; in Lc 5.77 %; in F15.82 and 5.42%; in F11 5.58 %, and in F10 5.59 %; content of lactose was in IV 4.44 and 4.50 %. in Lc 4.62%; in F1 4.46 and 4.71 %; in F11 4.30 %, and in F10 4.62 %. The differences were statistically significant (P0.001) in most cases. We found also significant effect of sampling order on the content of basic milk components;the content of fat and proteins rose, the content of lactose fluctuated
