Selection of guava (Psidium guajava L.) germplasm for essential oil production

Guava (Psidium guajava L.) germplasm was established at Khon Kaen University, from collection of guava planted in various areas of Northeast Thailand, in order to search for guava clone which leaf containing high essential oil content. The correlation analysis of essential oil content and chlorophyll content showed a positive correlation coefficient based on total chlorophyll content as a selection index, four clones of guava with high essential oil content have been selected.
