Comparison of there culture medias named Modified Semi-solid Rappaport Vassiliadis Agar (MSRV), Brilliant Green Agar (BGA) and Xylose Lysine Tergitor4 Agar (XLT4) for Salmonella detection was investigated from 559 specimens. These were 488 decreased animal organ samples and 71 fecal samples which obtained from the farms previously determined as Salmonellosis. The total number of samples found positive at least in one of the three medias. The results showed that the total positive organ samples of the three media were 247 samples (50.6 percent). The number positive in MSRV was not significantly different from XLT4 but different from BGA by both medias (p0.05). Samonella was found 195 samples (39.5 percent) in MSRV, 177 samples (36.3 percent) in XLT4 and 102 samples (20.9 percent) in BGA respectively. More than one serogroup from one sample was found in 7 sample of XLT4, 4 samples of MSRV, but none from BGA. When both MSRV and XLT4 was used together, the detection was increasingly found 14.1 percent more than XLT4 alone and 10.5 percent more than MSRV alone. However, the total positive number of MSRV+XLT4 was not different from MSRV+BGA (p0.05). Moreover, the detection of Salmonella in only one media found 12.7 percent positive number in MSRV, 5.5 percent in XLT4 and 0.2 percent in BGA. For 71 fecal samples, the total positive number was 12 samples (16.9 percent). Salmonella was found 10 samples (14.1 percent) in MSRV, 5 samples (7 percent) in XLT4 and only one sample (1.4 percent) in BGA. When MSRV and XLT4 were used, the positivity was found more than using either or XLT4 MSRV alone.
