Present study was performed to determine the effects of threonine (thr) addition to diets containing high protein on performance traits of laying Japanese quail. The birds were fed corn-soybean based diets providing 3000 kcal7kg Me, 24 % CP, 1.25 % lysine, 0.55 % methionine and these levels remained constant thorough 70 days experimental period. The experiment groups are as follow; 0.90 % thr (group-I), 1.00 % thr (group-II) or 1.10 % thr (group-III). There were significant differences among the experimental groups for egg production and egg weight (p0.05). But, threonine supplementation to diets containing high protein did not affect other performance criteria. It is possible to say that exogenous threonine addition to diets containing high protein may not be necessary
