Carried out are investigations of negative effect of some chemical xenobiotics of air (nitrogen oxides, carbon oxides, hydrogen sulphide) on the state of man's cardiovascular and central nervous system. In the Donbas over the recent years the statistical data of cardiovascular pathology exceeds the correspondent indices of other regions of Ukraine and of the majority of European countries. This became a reason of hygienic assessment of the effect of the atmospheric air xenobiotics on the occurrence of cerebrovascular diseases in Donetsk oblast's urban population. The main pollutants of the settlements of the region are listed. The most vulnearable for the negative effect of the atmospheric pollutants are persons of 30-60 and 60-79 years old, mainly women
