Raising productivity of rice through integration of organic, bio-and chemical fertilizers

Pot (chari) trial was conducted in the net house of Agronomy Department, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh during the boro season of 1995-96 with a view to raising the yield of rice through integration of organic, bio- and chemical fertilizers. The experiment comprised of 24 treatments including two varieties and 12 fertilizers. Among the fertilizer treatments, combination of Azotobacter+chemical fertilizer MV dose did the best in respect of growth (measured as leaf area index) as well as yield and yield components of rice. Interaction effects of variety and fertilizer treatments revealed that integration of Azotobacter+chemical fertilizer MV dose in BR 11 was superior to that of Jagli boro regarding growth and development and in turn, yield and yield components.
