New intraspecific hybrids brassica campestris X B. rapa (syn. campestris) and their characteristics

Budding, flowering, inflorescence characters and leaf number of the intraspecific hybrids between Tsai-hsin and broccoli raab were investigated to compare with those of their parents. Budding and flowering time, inflorescence size, height and number at flowering and leaf number at budding of the F1, more advanced selfed generations and backcrossed hybrids were intermediate between those of their parents. In addition, budding and flowering time of the F1 Tsai-hsin X broccoli raab, F3 and F4 hybrids of the reciprocal cross were obviously earlier than those of broccoli raab. Their inflorescences height, size and number at flowering were greater than those of Tsai-hsin whereas their leaf number were greater at budding.
