The drinking water quality in a 4530 capacity pigfarm production system

A qualitative assessment of drinking water obtained from private well sources in ecotechnical system for production of fatted pigs (with capacity for 4530 pigs) was made concerning organoleptic (colour, hardness, oxidizability, chlorides, ammonia, nitrates, nitrites) and microbial (microbial number, coli-titer) indices. It was found that the quality of drinking water corresponded to the regulation norms concerning the most important indecis of the studied organoleptic, physical and chemical ones. Critical for water quality in studied ecotechnical system for production of fatted pigs were the characteristics of microbial number (8-132/ml, average for the year 46.6 +-10.84/ml) and coli-titer(1 - 100, average for the year 23.6 +-7.12), which did not correspond to the standart requirements.
