The changes in the amino acid content of milk from Tsigay sheep during the grazing period (April- July) were investigated. It was found out that amino acid concentrations in milk of Tsigay sheep were the highest when the animals were reared at the high-altiitude pasture at 1500 m a.s..l. Compared to the high-altitude pasture, the total content of essential amino acids in sheep milk were lower than and equal to those, observed when Tsigay sheep were grazing on altitudes of 500 and 800 m a.s.l., respectively. The highest content of the different amino acids in sheep milk, except for that of methionine and arginine, was observed in June, followed by milk sampled in July.
