A geographical information system is used to represent recent data on the livestock statistics from the point of view of the water topography. With such a system, it is possible to take into consideration the location of agricultural buildings. The map, which represents the standardised livestock densities per ha according to a regular grid of 1 km x 1 km highlights "areas" which could be problematic for water. Two additional maps give the total number livestock and also the number of pigs and provides a representation which considers the hydrological catchment areas and not the communal political limits as usual.
