The following conclusions can be drawn from the results of physical and chemical analyses of soil at the Golija locality: The tested leached soil possesses agrophysical characteristics that are entirely satisfactory for the growing of mercantile and seed potatoes. Chemical characteristics of this soil are unfavourable due to its strongly acidic reaction and low phosphorus content. They must be corrected by means of calcification and application of larger doses of phosphorus fertilizers. Total content of Mn, Ni, and Cr significantly exceeds the maximum permissible concentration (MPC) in most of the analyzed samples, which is probably a consequence of the mineralogical composition of this soil. It is therefore necessary to determine readily mobile forms of the indicated elements in the soil and potatoes grown in it. Levels of Cu, Zn, Fe, Co, Pb, and Cd in the tested samples of leached soil are below MPC. Activity of the tested radionuclides does not threaten potato growing.
