A depletion of stratospheric ozone increase of solar ultraviolet radiation (UV) passing through the atmosphere. Ultraviolet radiation is very harmful to the entire ecosystem and for that reason, in the last few decades, scientists have placed a large emphasis on monitoring UV radiation and development and use of estimation procedures. At the University of Novi Sad was developed a numerical model called NEOPLANTA that forecasting the solar UV flux under cloud-free conditions and UV index. However, recently much attention has been directed to the effects of UV on plants. The responses of plants to UV irradiation include physiological, biochemical, morphological and anatomical changes. In this paper we presented characteristics of the model and main effects UV radiation on plants.
