In view of their complexity, the wastewater of the town of Novi Sad (joint sewage, industrial, municipal and atmospheric water) were a convenient example in the sense of testing selected factors pertinent to the design of a wastewater monitoring system, constructing a cadastre and plants for wastewater treatment. The work gives a prediction of the state and quantities of the industrial and municipal wastewaters. The assumption of the future state as the basis for designing wastewater treatment plants is based on the amount and organic load for the left and right bank of the Danube River. The work points out to the following facts: the inhabitants use water much above the EC mean; the majority of industrial facilities have a joint sewarage; the proportion of industrial wastewaters is much lower compared to the municipal wastewater; individual pretreatments in the industrial plants may yield the required quality of wastewaters.
