Dynamics of content of total anthocyanins of autochthonous [Montenegrin] sorts of apple and selected types of wild apple

The paper presents the results of three-year research of content and dynamics of total anthocyanins in the root of one-year old fruiting apple trees in the period of winter dormancy. The research was done on four autochthonous apple sorts (Senabija, Arapka, Pasinka and Sarenika) and nine selected types of wild apple (Malus sylvestris L.) in the area of Bijelo Polje, Montenegro (Serbia and Montenegro). The results of this research showed that the content and dynamics of the total anthocyanins was genetic characteristics of the sort, namely the type which influences the resistance to low temperatures, and that is important from the aspect of generative rootstocks production.
