Human resources, especially agricultural experts employed in agricultural stations, are one of the determinant factors of domestic agriculture modernization. There are 33 agricultural stations on the territory of the Republic of Serbia and they represent an important organizational base for agricultural improvement and modernization. Review of agricultual stations role in modernization is based on analysis of the human resource potential according to employees data. Apart from number of all employees, analysis takes into account their structure based on some general characteristics (such as gender, age, years of work experience, education, working role). The main objective is to indicate present characteristics of human resources in agricultural stations as well as to emphasize the significance of human resource to agricultural modernization process.
