The effect of Azospirillium inoculation in the effort to increase efficiency of N fertilization on growth and yield of corn. A study was conducted at the greenhouse of Agriculture Faculty, Brawijaya University, soil used was inceptisol from Kedung Kandang Malang. The objective was to identify the effect of Azospirillum inoculation on growth and yield of corn. The pot experiment was arranged in factorial randomized block design with 3 replications. The first treatment was Azospirillum inoculation and without inoculation and Nitrogen rates (0, 34.5, 69 and 138 kg/ha). The corn variety was Bisma. Results of the experiment showed that there was interaction between Azospirillum inoculation and N application on leaf quantity, leaf area, dry matter weight of plant, dry matter weight of grain and N-uptake of the plant. Nitrogen application at 69 kg/ha that was inoculation with Azospirillum can decrease nitrogen fertilizer application until 50 percent
