Effects of different substrates and cutting sources using IBA powder on rooting ability were examined in semihard cuttings of 3-year-old Telopea speciosissima seedlings. Kanuma soil, akadama soil medium particle size and river gravel exhibited a greater percentage of rooted cuttings (average of apical and basal cuttings of 76, 74 and 68%, respectively) in comparison with the peat: perlite mixture (34%). River gravel presented the poorest survival rate. Cutting sources did not present a difference in rooted shoots.
