The selectivity of pot entrance may be controlled by the design feature and the population process such as interaction between retained individuals. To obtain the basic data on how the pot entrance design affects the number and size distribution of individuals escaped from a pot, a series of test was carried out with live pranws in a tank. The value of mean escapment ratio could be used as an index to evaluate the selectivity of the entrance. The results suggest that the selectivity of the pot was closely related with the interior shape of the pot.
