The appropriate concentration of the nutrient solution in the raising of seedling and in the field, and the number of training branches in the field in the forcing culture of the sweet pepper variety 'Tosahime R' were investigated on the rockwool facility ""Kochi system"". Further, the growth and yield characteristics in this system were compared with those of soil culture. 1. The growth of seedling in raising of seedling period was inferior in case of 0.2 unit based on Yamasaki eggplant recipe of the concentration of nutrient solution, and the growth of the seedling in case of 0.6 unit had a succulent growth a little, and dry matter percentage of the top in case of 0.8 unit was a little lower compared with that of other units. It was judged that the appropriate concentration of nutrient solution was 0.4 unit in raising of seedling period. 2. In case the number of training branches were two, EC value of the dipping nutrient solution had exceeded 3.0 mS/cm incase of 1.0 unit based on Yamasaki eggplant recipe in the field, and was hing of the cultivation bed was necessary in the middle of March and the end of April. Therefore, it was judged that the case of 0.8 unit of the concentration of nutrient solution was appropriate in which there was a little more the fancy-grade yield. 3. In case the concentration of nutrient solution based on Yamasaki eggplant recipe was taken as 0.8 unit in the field, and when the branch training numbers were two, the growth of the branch was vigorous, and the percentage of fruit set on the first lateral branch was higher and there were also numerous number of fruits, and the fancy-grade yield was increased by 17% more than that in training numbers of four. 4. In the rockwool culture in two training branches, the percentage of fruit set was rather higher, and there were numerous number of fruits at every period, and the fancy-grade yield was more than that of the soil culture by 22%. 5. It was made clear that adaptability to the present system in forcing culture of sweet pepper variety 'Tosahime R' was extremely high.
