"1 Development of remote sensing technology which observes from platform on the ground The growth of paddy rice variety _gHaenuki_h was able to be estimated by using the plant cover ratio obtained from the digital camera image. The resolution of the image should secure 1-2mm/pixel or less. (G-R)+(G-B) was suitable as the poeration method between Red, Green, and Blue to obtain the plant cover ratio from the digital camera image. The plant cover ratio had the correlation in stem number, dry weight and LAI in 10.5 leaf stage. But, it was difficult to estimate the leaf color of the paddy rice from the digital camera image. The estimation of paddy rice growth was difficult in July though was possible in June by the digital camera image taken for under diagonal. Because, the growth in July was too large for image processing. The plant cover ratio had the correlation in number of establishment and stem in 3 leaf stage and 5 leaf stage of direct sowing flooded paddy field. 2 Development of remote sensing technology in medium high degree The leaf color of paddy rice was able to be estimated from the image of which took a picture from the motor paraglider. It is necessary to measure the leaf color of three fields to estimate the leaf color, and make the calibration curve. However, it is not possible to compare directly with the leaf color of other images. The data management of each field became possible by linking a digital map and the database by using GIS software ArcView3.0a. 3 Use of satellite data in agricultural sector of Yamagata Prefecture As a result of the land coating classification which used the satellite image, the error was within =+-10%. Therefore, the utility of the satellite data was taken as a means by which obtained as large area position information including the change in the land use. We examined accuracy of tha insolation data estimated from data of the weather satellite _gHIMAWARI (GMS)_h, The insolation actually observed agreed well with the estimated values in Yamagata. And, we compared each insolation data of any point in Yamagata, then there was regional variation of insolation."
