1989
Mustafa, A.F.
Eucalyptus microtheca, which was introduced from locality of high rainfall (500 800mm) in Australia and planted in the semiarid conditions of the Sudan (200 mm), needs irrigation to overcome this variation in the rainfall. Due to some difficulties in the water availability during certain periods especially October, watering experiment consisting of 15 regimes was conducted at Hamadalla in the Gezira Scheme to quantify the economical and optimal number of irrigations in the year. The results obtained was found that the best possible watering regime totalled 15 irrigations per year this is as follows: 22 July September = Fortnightly irrigation October = No irrigation November March = Fortnightly irrigation April 21 July = No irrigation.
