Energy consumption for lake reed and root felt chopping was investigated help by equipment including pendulous lever and knife with thickness in 0.0015 m or 0.0051 m. Average energy for reeds cutting with knife sloped in 30 deg C to vertical rises by 20% if number of reeds in sample from 1 to 10. Cutting of reed with thin knife (0.0014 m) requires by 13% less energy compare reed chopping using thick (0.0051 m) knife. Specific reed cutting energy decreases by 21...24%, if velocity of knife increases from 0.90 m/s to 4.96 m/s. Specific energy for reed wall material cutting in dependence on reed wall material density multiplication with reed wall normal cross-section area varies accordingly with twofold polynomial equation. Summary consumption of energy for partitioning of 5-reed bundle using edgeless knife was by 38% higher compare to knife sharpened in angle 5 deg C. Specific energy for cutting of lake's root felt rises by 48%, if velocity of the knife increases from 0.9 m to 4.2 m/s.
